1-Day Offshore Advanced Techniques

This course is designed to upgrade the knowledge of personnel trained in basic Offshore First Aid to a level where they have the understanding and skills required to assist an offshore medic. In particular they are given the opportunity to practice and gain confidence in the use of a comprehensive range of medical equipment under the supervision of the offshore medic.

  bullet point The role of the advanced first aider
    bullet point Assessing & recording vital functions using a recording chart
    bullet point Monitoring blood pressure
    bullet point Receiving casualties and the use of triage
    bullet point Management of the unconscious casualty
    bullet point The ability to transport a sick and injured patient safely and effectively by helicopter
    bullet point Administration of Oxygen
    bullet point Safe use of Entonox
    bullet point The use of injections in pain control
    bullet point Understanding intravenous infusion
    bullet point The use of intubation in Airway Management
    bullet point The use of Defibrillators
       
 

bullet point Completion:
On completion of the course, the delegate will receive a certificate of attendance. This is valid for 3 years. All delegates also receive a free pack including an up-to-date first aid manual.
